Lindy Cook - Director & Nutritionist
"My personal goal is to live a healthy, happy, balanced life, and my goal is to give others the opportunity to experience the best possible version of themselves with optimal health, vitality and wellbeing. That's what I am truly passionate about."
Hi there….
I'm Lindy Cook and a qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist. To me eating a healthy, whole food diet is one of the fundamentals of wellbeing. 'Let Food Be Your Medicine and Medicine Be Your Food' as they say. So I guess it goes without saying how much I love giving Nutrition seminars and Cooking Workshops with Corporate Chillout. Getting out into the world and inspiring positive food choices is what it's all about. Whether it's replacing the lolly jar at work with a bowl of fresh fruit and nuts or encouraging you to cook more , getting you excited about eating nourishing, healthy foods is the aim.
I have been fortunate enough to work in many different capacities within the wellbeing world – recipe development, lecturing at Endeavour College, giving Nutritional workshops in the workplace and working in private practice. I have also been a regular contributor to Health & Wellbeing Magazines, on-line health sites and a speaker at events such as EcoExpo for Sustainable Living.
In 2015 I began a fellowship with The Centre for Sustainability Leadership. Not only do our food choices effect our health, they impact our environment. Diseases, such as obesity and diabetes, are in epidemic proportions and we have to ask ourselves why. Our lives are busy, leaving many feeling to time poor to cook. Often it seems easier to buy pre-packaged, ready made, nutritionally dead foods. Ultimately there is a disconnect between where our food comes from to how it ends up on our plate. We desperately need more 'real food' in our diets to create 'real change'. I want to help you create that change …..
You can often also find me at my local farmer's marker's market with a basket food of delicious, organic food. There's something incredibly grounding about good, 'real' foods that makes me very happy
To chill out I practice yoga and love to get outside, with friends, and walk in nature. I feel my shoulders really start to drop when I spend time at our beach shack on the east coast of Victoria. Beach walks, bush hikes, swimming, reading, catching up with friends, eating good food, hanging out with my family. That's my real chill out time.
